How to publish in the journal?

e-Migrinter is the Migrinter’s peer reviewed journal which publishes scientific articles included in thematic issues.

Each issue of the journal is composed of several sections: "Thematic section", "Varia" if any, "Life of the research centre" and "Book review".

Please feel free to submit a special issue proposal gathering related articles about international migrations. The proposal are to be sent to the editorial board of the journal with a brief argument at the following address: e.migrinter@gmail.com.

You can also submit single papers for review, which will be placed in the Varia section.

In order to facilitate the collaboration between guest editors and the editorial board, we suggest you to read the instructions that you will find below and attached to this page.

Submission and editing process of thematic issues

This onlys concerns the submission of special issues that will be published in the thematic section of the journal. The journal's editorial team deals with of the other sections of the issue ("Life of the laboratory", "Reading notes" and "Varia" for articles that are not part of the thematic file).

Submit a proposal

The proposal made by guest editors should include:

  • A title and a summary of the special issue with the names of the guest editor(s) and of the authors of the articles (even if provisional);

  • A short description and justification (2000 signs maximum), and an abstract of each article (maximum 500 signs);

  • a tentative schedule including the date at which editors expect to send the finalise versions of the collection of papers.

This schedule can be published on the e-Migrinter website announcing updoming issues.

Guest editors will ensure the communication with authors and are to write an introductory paper. They will also ensure the consistency of the collection of paper and their overall quality.

Once the proposal is accepted and included into editorial process

The Scientific board of the journal will review and edit all the articles, after they have been blinded.

The editorial board will be the contact point between guest editor(s) and the Scientific board. The communication is made by e-mail with the adress e.migrinter@gmail.com.

Guest editor(s) are to respect the schedule agreed with the e-Migrinter editorial team.

The entire collection of papers, in its corrected and finalized version, should be sent to the editorial team at least 4 months before the scheduled publication date.

Guest editors should provide a visual for the cover of the issue. They must ensure that this visual is free of rights or that they have the copyrights. If no image or illustration is retained by them, the secretariat may, if necessary, make several proposals.

The chosen photograph or graphic representation must meet the criteria required for illustrations inside the articles. For a better image quality, a minimum resolution of 300 dpi is requested. The illustration should be sent at least 1 month before the scheduled publication date.

The secretariat reserves the right to directly contact the authors at the time of the layout for bibliographic or illustration details.

Finally, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject whole or patrt of a thematic issue.

Notes for Contributors

The articles sent to the journal (e.migrinter@gmail.com) should follow the recommendations below. After reception, each article is reviewed by members of the scientific committee and of the editorial team.

General instructions for submission

The document (Word or Open Office) is in A4 format, single spaced, in Times font, size 12.

Articles will be between 15 000 and 30 000 character long (bibliography not included). Book reviews or reports will be between 7,000 and 15,000 characters (including spaces).

Each article includes the contact details of the author at the beginning of the article: function, affiliation and email address.

The headings and subheadings will be written in bold in the body of the document by prioritizing them with the font size (16 - 14 - 12). Three levels are accepted. Exceptionally, a hierarchy in the body of the text can be accepted in the form 1); 2); 3) ... in the same way, the use of dashes can be used if necessary.

Reference of quotations of texts within the article should be specified.

Testimonies as well as foreign expressions of origin (Anglicism, Latin word or abbreviation, etc.) are to be written in italics without quotation marks.

It is possible to highlight testimonies or quotations separating them from the rest of the text only if they exceed two lines.

The first time an acronym appears in the text, it must appear in full between brackets. For example: Non-governmental organization (NGO).

The footnotes are numbered continuously from "1"; They do not contain bibliographical references.

For the illustrations (graphs, tables, maps, scanned papers, drawings, photographs, animated documents) several technical points must be respected:

  • The source files will be transmitted independently of the text of the article, in their format and size of origin (.gif, .jpeg, .png, .ai, ...), avoiding compressed files. The titles and sources of the illustrations will be specified in the text.

  • The minimum resolution of illustrations is 150 dpi.

  • The names of the files of illustrations will be explicit (figure1.gif, figA.ai, ...) and named after the titles of the illustrations (Figure 1: Table of ...) in the text.

  • It will be specified in the body of the article where each illustration should be placed [Figure No. X].

  • Each illustration must referred to with its source. If the illustration has been made by the author, indicate the sources in brackets after the title as follows (Author, date). If the figure is from another source, enter the references as follows (Author, date, page number).

  • The author should confirm that the images used are free of rights.

  • You can also insert videos.

The e-Migrinter team reserves the right to refuse an illustration if its content or format does not meet these requirements.

Bibliographic calls are possible in the text in the form: (Author, date) and / or (Author, date, pages). They must be consistent throughout the article.

The bibliography is to be placed at the end of the article in accordance with the following instructions.

Bibliographical references presentation

  • For family names: [Name].

  • For first names: expand in full [First name]., Put an initial, if the complete information is missing.

  • The date of publication is within brackets.

  • To indicate the source: use of italics.

  • To separate the different elements of the bibliographic reference: use of the comma.

  • For excerpts from a collective work: in Name, [first letter of first name in capital letter] (Éd. / Éd. / Dir.).

  • For the book series : it is indicated at the end of the reference in parentheses (name of the collection, numbering).

  • For theses and dissertations: add a line at the end of the reference that describes the document (see examples below).

  • For electronic references: check the URL and always mention a date of consultation of the site.
